High Holiday Online Registration Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Here are the most frequently asked questions about the
online registration system for High Holidays. If you are having problems
registering online, please look here before you call or email the
Temple. Chances are that the
answer to your question is here. This list will continue to grow as we get more
feedback from congregants who encounter problems. If you have a problem not
listed here, please email
tickets@tbs-online.org with the details of what you are experiencing, and a
volunteer will contact you.

How do I register online?
Online registration is a 3-part process, that starts by
going to the
online registration site.
1.
First, you must establish your account by creating a password. This is called
"First Time Registration".
2. Next, you need to update your personal profile for each member of your
family, so that the
Temple
has all the info needed to process your registration request.
3. Finally, you can register for High Holiday events.
Each page of the
registration website has instructions on how to complete the entries for that
page. All you need to do is follow them, and you'll be done in no time. Here
are the most common problems that congregants have had in the past.
Mis-typing:
Computers are so literate!
They cannot understand anything that is not typed correctly. If you make
mistakes in typing, you'll get an error. Take your time!
Wrong Information typed:
You must type in the information as directed. Your member number is the number
found on the bill you received from the Temple. If you have 3 people in your
family membership, you must enter a 3 in that field.
Outdated information:
If your family grew (or
shrank), the system only contains the information you provided when you first
became a member, and any updates you provided to the Temple staff. Please
contact the office at (703) 764-2901 to update your membership information.
Why is
the password that I created not working?
If you just created the password, you need to give the
system five to ten minutes to validate and authorize it. Following this period,
make sure you are typing your correct user I.D. and password. The password is
case sensitive, so make sure your “Caps Lock” key is off.
Why does
the system give me an error when I enter my birth date?
The format for birth date
should be mm/dd/yyyy. (E.g. 01/01/1971)
Why do I have to give personal
information?
Identity theft is rampant on the internet. The
Temple must take reasonable
precautions against someone falsely identifying themselves as temple members, so
we must ask you for some personal information so that we can prove your identity
online. No information we have or gather on you or your family will ever be
shared outside of the
Temple.
My Profiles are missing family
members, what do I do?
If your family has grown (or shrunk) since you became a
member, you must notify the
Temple
to update your membership records. If you didn't do that, the Profiles you see
won't be up-to-date. Please contact the office to update your membership
records for additional family members.
How do I add
guests?
Each page has a horizontal navigator at the top of the page. Click
the button that says, "Guests". This will take you to a page that allows you to
add related or unrelated guests. Carefully follow the instructions on the page.
During your first visit to the system, the table listing will not contain any
guest names. Click the button that says: “Add Person”. You will be provided with
options that define the guest’s relationship to you and your family. Click the
appropriate option. The fee for a related guest is $100 per person per holiday.
The fee for a non-related guest is $550/person/holiday. If this person joins the
Temple
within the ensuing year, those fees are applied to their dues.
No
fee is incurred for a guest who is a current member of another affiliated Reform
synagogue. This is listed as a "Reciprocity Ticket Request".
What does it
mean when circles and buttons are dimmed and nothing happens when I click them?
Because there is limited seating, space may become unavailable for
a particular service while you are registering. When a service reaches maximum
capacity, that service's column will be dimmed and you will not be able to make
that particular selection. It is recommended that you make another choice during
your present registration session.
I can't get online? Help!
You should first read all the instructions on each page of
the registration site, and follow them. You should also read these Frequently
Asked Questions. If neither of those help, you can call the office or send an
email to
tickets@tbs-online.org with details of the problem you are having, and a
volunteer will contact you promptly to help you resolve it. In most cases, the
problem you are having will be answered in these Frequently Asked Questions.
If you ask for help, you
have to be as descriptive as possible so the volunteer can help you. If you get
any error messages or screens that you don't think are displaying correctly
please hit the Print Screen key when you see them, paste them into an email and
forward them to the
Temple.
The web master will use this information in tracking down and fixing the
problem.
I want to
be a volunteer during the Holidays. Can I sign up online?
As long as you or a family member is 13 or older, you can
volunteer yourself or them online to help out during one of the various time
slots. This is accomplished on the Volunteer page. The volunteer times do not
conflict with the times for the services.
How do I pay
online and is it secure?
Click
the button on the top navigator bar that says “Summary”. As you scroll down the
Summary page, you will see all your service,
volunteer, and other selections. You will also see a summary of fees and
contributions. You can print this page at any time. (See FAQ on: How do I print
my reservations?) If you must pay a fee you have the option of paying by:
·
Credit Card, in which case, you can click the
“Credit” button and pay through Paypal; which is a secure online payment system.
You do not have to join Paypal to make this payment. You can pay through Paypal
by using your own credit card. When the Paypal transaction is completed, you'll
be returned to our site.
·
Check, in which case, you must send in a check
as soon as possible or risk losing your reservation.
·
If you do not have a balance you may
click the “Reserve Seats” button to confirm your reservation.
Can I make
changes to my reservations?
You can make changes to your reservations by logging onto
the system at any time until reservations are closed. Upon your return, the
screens will have retained the information from your most previous online
session. You will be able to change seat reservations as long as a service has
not been dimmed out on the screen. Any additions relating to fees will be
reflected on the summary page as an additional balance due. (The system
remembers how much you paid previously and only charges you for your new
additions.) If the changes cause a negative balance and you require a refund,
you must contact the
Temple.
How do I
print my reservations?
You can print the Summary page by doing the following:
At the top left hand corner of you computer screen, click
on the word “File”, the click “Page Setup”. Under “Orientation”, click
“Landscape”, then click ”OK”. Next click the word “File” again and click
“Print”. When you list menu of printers comes up, select the one you want to
print to and click “Print”. You can use the same procedure to print this FAQ
page. However, these are only to serve as a reference to your reservation. Your
High Holiday tickets will be sent to you in the mail from the Temple to all
members who are current with their annual dues. The Summary page DOES NOT serve
as your High Holiday ticket!
